Perisic Could Leave If Right Offer Comes In, Claims Spalletti
Ivan Perisic could very well be on his way out of Inter Milan this summer should an offer of the right amount of money come in, according to club manager Luciano Spalletti.
The Croatian winger has been dreaming of a move to Manchester United this summer, and is inches away from fulfilling that desire. However, United are struggling to come to an agreement with Inter over the transfer fee.
This has been a major stumbling block in the move, and has frustrated Jose Mourinho, who is keen on signing two more players, and will even settle for just one if it comes down to it.
The Portuguese recently insisted that he will not pay over the top for any of his transfer targets, and as ironic as that may sound, it will be a hindrance in the Perisic transfer.
The Nerazzurri were in a fix a while ago as they needed to raise several millions in order to get on the good side of the Financial Fair Play regulations, which seemed to have put United in a good position to sign Perisic.
But the Italian club soon managed to raise the funds from elsewhere, which then relaxed their approach to the matter, and put them in a position of dictating terms.
The 28-year-old is currently involved with Inter’s tour of Singapore and China, and manager Spalletti admitted that no one will stand in the winger’s way if the right offer comes in.
United have already put up several offers, but have seen them turned down. A bid of £40 million is said to be under preparation, and it is believed the Serie A giants will have no issues with accepting a sum in that region.
“He is a fantastic player and if his future is totally up to me, I will definitely keep him,” Spalletti said at a press conference. However, if an offer comes and the club are satisfied with the money, which will be used to invest in and strengthen the team, he could leave.”
