Inter Milan are preparing a contract extension for Ivan Perisic.

Despite maintaining a strong interest in Perisic all summer, the Red Devils have refused to meet Nerazzurri’s asking price of €55m, and Mediaset Premium (via Football Italia) claim that Inter are convinced that United won’t come back with a fresh offer or include Anthony Martial in a potential deal.

Therefore, the Italian giants are preparing a contract extension to make Perisic the star of the team, with his current contract running out in June 2020.

After arriving from Wolfsburg in 2015, Perisic has been one of the key components and has blossomed into an exciting forward for Inter Milan. Despite the Italian club enduring another frustrating season, the former Dortmund man was remarkable, as he netted 11 goals and registered 10 assists in 42 appearances across all competition.

Persic’s exploits at San Siro may have impressed Jose Mourinho, however, United’s CEO Ed Woodward is not willing to match Inter’s asking price, as the club has already spent more than €100m on two players – Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku.
