Martial Agrees To Join Inter On Loan As Perisic Edges Closer To United Switch
Anthony Martial has reportedly agreed to join Inter Milan on loan in order to allow a move for Ivan Perisic to go through.
Perisic has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for a majority of the summer so far. However, despite the constant speculation, no transfer has materialised. This is primarily down to the fact that Inter remain stubborn in terms of their demands.
United came at them with bids in the range of £40 million, and despite that sum being just £4 million short of Inter’s total valuation, the Serie A club turned down the offers. As the saga dragged on, the Italians spotted a window of opportunity, and started to demand that Martial be included in the deal.
While United were initially reluctant, their desperation to sign Perisic may just force them to let the Frenchman go on a season-long loan. However, it appears that Martial isn’t even waiting for a final decision from the Red Devils, and has agreed to join the Nerazzurri.

The young forward believes that this could be an opportunity to regain some of the confidence that made him such a crucial weapon in attack during his first season at United.
Since the arrival of Mourinho, he has found game time hard to come by, and the constant criticism from his manager hasn’t helped his situation either.
As a result, he has made up his mind that a move away from the club – even if it is temporary – will do him more good than harm. It is now up to United to meet Inter’s asking price and bring an end to the saga once and for all.
Only last week, Luciano Spalletti admitted that he would do everything in his power to prevent Perisic from leaving, and that there was interest, but the negotiations came to a standstill.
“There was a contact a few weeks ago, then the negotiation stopped, so for me it is closed,” Spalletti told Italian broadcaster Premium Sport. “The more days that pass, the more difficult it becomes for us to find a replacement of his calibre. I’ll strongly oppose his sale.”
