What’s the story?

Everton might have lost their leading goal scorer Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United this summer, but that has not stopped them from spending big and having a transfer window to remember. Ronald Koeman, however, is still hungry for more signings, and according to reports mentioned in the Mirror, Danny Welbeck is being eyed as their next big target.

Should the deal take place?

The club has been chasing Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, but has only faced failure in that situation so far. As plan B, the Merseyside outfit is now planning a shocking move for the other striker in the North London side, Danny Welbeck. The striker has failed to have an impact with the Gunners, and the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette might further dent his hopes of gaining more game time. With former partner Wayne Rooney now at Everton, a move there might be a career-changing decision Welbeck could make.

Possibility of it happening

With the bidding price assumed to be £30m, the chances of Welbeck heading to Goodison park are currently 8/10.

2. Gareth Barry To West Brom

What’s the story?

Tony Pulis recently lost main man Darren Fletcher to Stoke City, and is eyeing someone able to step in as a replacement. News mentioned in The Daily Mail suggests that Garry Barry is being seen as the man to do the job and be the leader in midfield next season at the Hawthorns.

Should the deal take place?

The 36-year-old is highly regarded by Ronald Koeman at Everton, but his age, and the possible arrival of Gylfi Sigurdsson, might hamper his chances of achieving regular first team action next campaign. The player is a veteran of the sport and plays with solidity, experience, and class. These attributes are exactly what Pulis loves to coach, and hence, the duo will form a good partnership should the deal take place.

Possibility of it happening

The chances of Barry heading to West Brom on a two-year deal are currently 9/10.

3. Ben Gibson To Manchester City

What’s the story?

It requires no rocket scientist to understand that the area Pep Guardiola aims to strengthen at Manchester City this summer, is the defence. The boss has already splashed a huge amount of money of bringing in defensive reinforcements. However, it does not stop there, as The Daily Mail has reported that Ben Gibson is being lined up as the next name to be reeled into the Etihad this summer.

Should the deal take place?

The 24-year-old has been an attraction for fellow clubs like Liverpool and West Brom, with the latter putting up bids worth £20m. However, the defender seems focused on playing for Middlesbrough at the moment, and help them gain promotion into the Premier League. If Pep does come looking for the former England U-21, it might be too big a deal to say no to.

Possibility of it happening

Manager Garry Monk said:” I said all along it would have to be an extraordinary offer for any player to leave and we don’t want our important players to leave.” Therefore, the possibility of Gibson heading to Manchester is currently 5/10.

4. Mario Lemina To Southampton

What’s the story?

After securing the services of Jan Bednarek, Southampton seem to be on the verge of signing their second player of the window. The Guardian reported the news suggesting that Juventus midfielder, Mario Lemina, could be arriving at the club in the coming few days, with a medical lined up in the next 48 hours.

Should the deal take place?

The 23-year-old midfielder was also a target for Mark Hughes at Stoke City, but apparently decided to play under Mauricio Pellegrino next season. After making only 8 Serie A starts for Juventus last season, a move away was the right thing to do, and with the deal assumed to be worth £18m, it can be termed as good business for everyone involved.

Possibility of it happening

The player looks ready for life in the Premier League, with the chances of him coming to England being a solid 8/10.
