Mbappe Set To Snub Top European Clubs For PSG Because Of Neymar
Having sensationally secured the services of world record signing Neymar for the hefty amount of £198 million only a week ago, PSG are once again set to spend big in a bid to reconstruct their team for both domestic and European glory.
Reports suggest that Kylian Mbappe is set to be signed by the French giants for the astounding sum of £160 million.
The French starlet has been pursued by Real Madrid for the better part of the transfer season. The reigning UEFA Champions League victors were the first to pen a high amount on the wonder kid.
However, the deal reportedly fell through after negotiations with Monaco failed, and also due to the Spanish outfit’s unwillingness to pay the wages of the highly rated forward.
Furthermore, a chance to link up with Neymar up front is what allegedly influenced the Frenchman’s choice to head to Parc des Princes, where he trained as a boy. The potential £360m frontline could prove to be daunting if he shall live up to the high expectations that he has gained over the previous season.
Moreover, it was the youngster’s father that reportedly convinced the reigning Ligue 1 champions to part ways with him. Previously, Monaco were highly reluctant to sell Mbappe, despite eager interest from Spain. However, with a mere year left on his contract, the deal eventually swayed in the favor of the Qatari-backed club instead.
PSG can now pose a serious attempt for the Champions League crown, which has continuously evaded them over the past seasons, as well as retake their French title from Monaco.
The link up, should the deal come through, will arguably be one of the most lethal ones in Europe, with Neymar showing time and time again at Barcelona that he can function best as part of a spearhead attack.
