Fourth Summer Signing: Mourinho Reveals The Type Of Player He Wants To Sign
Jose Mourinho has revealed that he is still in the market for another player, and has ‘twenty five percent’ of his transfer business left to complete.
The Portuguese manager has secured three of four targets he aimed to bring in this summer, with Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku, and Nemanja Matic joining the club.
His priority has been to sign a defender, a midfielder, a winger, and a striker, and with just 20 days of the transfer window left to go, all he needs now is someone who can operate on the flanks.
However, Mourinho was vague when discussing the final type of player he is looking to bring in. United have been on Ivan Perisic’s tail for a majority of this summer, but recent reports suggest that Jose has now turned his focus on to signing a decent left-back.

When quizzed about his next move, the 55-year-old simply stated that he was in the market for a player who could ‘play from the sides’. This could either mean he is still after Perisic, or that he has now set his focus on Danny Rose, as recent reports have suggested.
The English left-back has openly criticized his club on a number of occasions recently, and it is said to have upset a number of officials at the club. He has also stated that he will discuss his future with Spurs if another club makes a concrete offer for him.
This stance has encouraged Mourinho in his quest to sign the 27-year-old, and we’ll just have to wait and see what Mourinho has got up his sleeve.
“Twenty five per cent [left] means one of four, and we’ve got a central defender that can play in many other positions, which is important,” said Mourinho during his press conference, ahead of the club’s first Premier League game of the season against West Ham.
“Victor [Lindelof] can play right-back and can play central midfield. We got a central midfielder, we got a striker. Obviously the 25 per cent would be a player for another position, playing from the sides.”
