Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has asked chief executive Ed Woodward to start fresh talks to sign Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic.

As reported earlier, Perisic’s agent was in Manchester to request Mourinho to raise his bid in order to get the transfer completed. The meeting seems to have worked well, as Manchester United have re-entered the negotiations to sign the winger.

As per the Mirror, Mourinho has directed Woodward to increase the offer, as the Portuguese looks to finalise the deal.

Inter Milan and Manchester United have been playing the game of ‘who blinks first’ all summer, and now, it seems the Red Devils have blinked. After seeing a number of bids rejected over the last few months, the Premier League giants are finally looking to seal the deal in the region of £48 million.

Mourinho has been as clear as rain about his targets this season, with the ex-Chelsea boss maintaining that he wants to sign four players for the new season.

He stressed upon the same again, by saying: “I am happy with the effort the club did and that the club managed to do 75% of the work before the Premier League starts and until Aug 31.”

The Reds’ manager also talked about the fourth signing he would welcome, by adding: “If the remaining 25% don’t arrive, I will not moan, just go with everything I have to try to win every match we play.”
