Manager Reveals Why Ivan Perisic Didn’t Complete Old Trafford Switch
Ivan Perisic, one of Jose Mourinho’s primary transfer targets, is happy at Inter Milan, according to Croatia NT manager.
Ante Cacic, the head coach of Croatia, believes that his country man will stay at Inter Milan despite Manchester United interest.
Perisic has been targeted by Jose Mourinho, who has seen a number of his bids rejected by a defiant Inter Milan. And with only a few days remaining in the transfer window, any possible deal now looks highly improbable.
Cacic, on the other hand, seems pretty sure that Perisic is staying put at Inter Milan by signing a new contract.
He revealed: “I spoke to Ivan Perisic, he is happy at Inter. The coach [Luciano Spalletti] appreciates him, they are preparing new contract for him.”
Manchester United and Inter Milan have struggled to reach an agreement over a viable transfer fee for Ivan Perisic. The winger wanted to move to Old Trafford, but in the light of recent developments, Perisic is set to stay with the Italian giants and sign a new contract with better salary.
With Perisic off the market, Manchester United might decide to turn to other players. There have been reports that Mourinho has expressed interest in Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, who is also wanted by Liverpool.
