UEFA Delivers An Update On The ‘Man City Investigation’ After Complaint From La Liga

La Liga had previously made a complaint to UEFA about Manchester City violating Financial Fair Play rules during the transfer window. UEFA were reported to be probing into clubs violating the Financial Fair Play rules, and it was suspected that the Citizens were under the radar following a complaint made by La Liga.
However, it has been confirmed that it isn’t the case, and Manchester City will not be probed in the regard of complaints by La Liga. Furthermore, UEFA have clarified that it’s only Paris Saint-Germain who are under the scanner for now, and even they aren’t probed because of La Liga complaint.
The French club has spent a ridiculous amount of money to secure the services of their superstar targets in Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. As it stands, the duo holds the record of two of the costliest players in the world, who were, remarkably, bought in the same window.
A UEFA spokesperson confirmed: “There is no investigation into Manchester City with regards to Financial Fair Play regulations. Any reports mentioning such an investigation are unsubstantiated.” The news will be delightfully welcomed by Manchester City owners and manager.
Earlier, La Liga had claimed that it was their complaint that got UEFA to probe into PSG. An official statement by La Liga read: “There will be an investigation following the formal complaint filed by La Liga asking UEFA to inspect Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City FC for violation of financial fair play regulations.
“La Liga, the association of the best football teams in Spain, is pleased that UEFA has opened a formal investigation into financial fair play at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).”
