Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has signed an extension till 2020, and he now wants his star player Antoine Griezmann to stay till then as well.

Griezmann has seen his release clause brought down to €100 million again, after it was raised to €200 million during the transfer window by Atletico to fend off the interest around the player. Encouraged by the development, Manchester United have considered signing the player in January rather than waiting for next season.

However, according to Dan Balon, Simeone is adamant to not let go of Griezmann till he himself remains at the club. Atletico supporters have been elated with the the news of their favorite manager extending his stay in the Spanish capital, and they would only be happier if Simeone could keep Griezmann at the club as well.

Meanwhile, Manchester United remain hopeful of signing the France international, so as to bolster their squad even further. Mourinho feels that his team needs one more attacker, and the Portuguese wants to go back to his primary target after missing out on Gareth Bale and Ivan Perisic.
