Deal Agreed: Midfielder Could Move To Old Trafford In January After Clause Agreement
It is hard for youth academy products to break into the first team, especially for big teams, where big money signings dominate the starting lineup.
Despite this, talents do stand out and prove necessary for the squad. This appears to be the case for one Manchester United youngster, who may be wanted by Jose Mourinho earlier than expected.
Andreas Pereira moved to Valencia on loan for the season on deadline day. However, Mourinho, in a press conference ahead of the side’s encounter with Stoke, confirmed that he may bring the Brazilian back during the January window.

This will be made possible courtesy of a recall clause in the player’s contract, which dictates that United can cut short the loan spell with the Spanish side.
Mourinho confirmed this by saying: “I’m a bit disappointed that he left. But, okay, it was his decision. I open the door for his decision. He has a long-term contract and we have an option to bring him back on 1 January, so we have that situation under control.”
The 21-year-old enjoyed an outing in Spain last season, when he was loaned out to Granada. His antics as a creative midfielder proved to be impressive enough for the youngster to catch Mourinho’s eyes. It appears that the Portuguese sought to deploy the player during the tightly-packed secondary matches at the domestic level.
The Red Devils boss reckoned: “You have to be ready to fight for the position. I think his decision can be considered a young player who wants to play every weekend.”
However, Pereira’s choice can be sympathized with. He is at the stage in his career where it is paramount that he develops his talents to the fullest and shows top sides what he’s got to offer. As of such, he can’t afford to warm the bench at Old Trafford, regardless of how prestigious the English side might be.
