Romelu Lukaku Fulfils Childhood Dream Following Summer Move

Romelu Lukaku has revealed that he has been dreaming of playing under Jose Mourinho ever since he was 11 years old.
Before joining the Red Devils this summer, there is no denying that Lukaku had a fractured relationship with Mourinho during their brief spell together at Chelsea. The former Inter boss sold Lukaku for Everton in 2014, following which the big Belgian became one of the most lethal strikers in Europe.
Due to his incredible exploits for the Toffees, Mourinho lured Lukaku to Old Trafford for £75m this summer. And after having reunited with the Portuguese manager, Lukaku has now insisted that he feels grateful to get the chance of playing under Mourinho again.
“I wanted to play for him since I was 11, when you get another chance you don’t say no. I’m grateful for second opportunity,” the 24-year-old told the Premier League Show.
“He’s always been the same, a man who wants the best from his players every day. He doesn’t give us a rest on the pitch, he wants us to fight in training and on the pitch and that’s what I like about him. Off the pitch, he’s a family man, someone who’ll listen to you. That’s what I like about him.”
The 24-year-old further talked about what a privilege it has been to play for Manchester United so far, and that he wasn’t daunted by the challenges at Old Trafford.
“You know the expectations are really high. I was prepared, just waiting for the opportunity to come. It’s the biggest club in the world. As soon as i signed for the club I knew what it meant. I wanted this challenge. Everyone’s hungry, everyone wants it. The atmosphere is really good. I’m delighted I’m here,” the striker added.
Lukaku has already started the season on a bright note by scoring 3 goals in 3 Premier League games, and it shall be interesting to see whether he replicates his form against Stoke City on Saturday.
