Chelsea Condemn Their Own Fans For Singing Anti-Semitic Alvaro Morata Chants

Alvaro Morata could not have asked for a better start to his Chelsea career, after steering his side to their 3rd consecutive win in the Premier League.
Although Morata would have enjoyed his 3rd goal of the campaign in just 4 games, he definitely did not like fans singing songs with his name that had anti-semitic chants, and were related to Tottenham. Chelsea fans travelled all the way to Leicester City’s King Power Stadium and put together a new chant for the Spaniard.
The song went like this: “Alvaro Morata, he came from Real Madrid, he hates the f***ing Yids”. The term “Yids” is considered to be an anti-semitic epithet in relation to their arch-rivals Spurs.
Morata helped the Blues win 2-1 to move up to 3rd in the table, as he continues to impress since joining from Real Madrid for a club record fee.
Chelsea fans have long directed pot shots as Spurs, but this has turned out to be in an anti-semitic manner, and over the past few years, the London club hierarchy has begun to act with zero tolerance to this fan behaviour.
According to ESPN FC reporter Liam Twomey, Chelsea released a statement post the Leicester game on the Morata chant, asking the fans to put an end to this chant with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, Morata also took to Twitter to ask the fans to treat everyone with respect: “Since I arrived, I have been able to feel your support every single day, you are amazing and I’d like to ask you to please respect everyone!”
The Spanish international will see himself in action for Chelsea in the Champions League, before hosting Arsenal in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge.
