Louis Van Gaal Has Finally Revealed The Real Reason Behind Mourinho’s Appointment

Manchester United are currently fresh title favourites at the beginning of the new season, and given the fact that it is Jose Mourinho’s second season in charge, the chances of that happening do appear to be high.
The Red Devils have been far from becoming champions since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson, and there have been a few managerial names that have tried their luck in that time. One of those bosses was Louis Van Gaal, who served two years at the helm at Old Trafford, after taking over from David Moyes.
The former Barcelona coach did manage to win the FA Cup – a trophy lifting act that came as his last job as the boss before being sacked within the 24 hours that followed.
It has been over a year since Mourinho took over from where Van Gaal left off, and despite not progressing in the Premier League, winning the Europa League and creating a strong looking line up has been a job well done by the Portuguese tactician so far.
The former Bayern Munich and Ajax boss recently went public about the issues behind his sacking, by revealing (via Mirror): “Were they unhappy about the results or the performances of the team under my management? No.
“But all of a sudden they could get Mourinho for the long term, a manager with a massive commercial value in the world. Woodward finally said this exactly so to me the day after the FA Cup Final.”

Van Gaal did not hold back while talking about Woodward and those at United, and admitted to how disappointed he felt by the way he was treated. Among many other harsh truths revealed by him, one that stood out was: “Look, the system is rotten. Let’s get that clear. Football has lost its values, but a manager cannot change that.”
Manchester United might go on and win the Premier League and everything will be forgotten, but is winning the only thing that matters in football nowadays, with dignity taking a back seat?
