Manchester United Open Contract Talks With Marouane Fellaini
Manchester United have opened contract talks with Marouane Fellaini.
Since having sealed a move from Everton in the summer of 2013, Fellaini’s career has been marred with lots of ups and downs.
Despite enduring three forgettable seasons, Jose Mourinho has spoken highly about the midfielder, and unlike other managers, the Portuguese gave Fellaini more playing time during his first season at Old Trafford.
The 29-year-old made 43 appearances in all competitions last term, but after United signed Nemanja Matic from Chelsea this summer, it was expected that the English giants would offload Fellaini, who was strongly linked with a move to Galatasaray.

Mourinho, however, blocked the proposed switch, and insisted that the Turkish giants would not have any chance of signing the midfielder.
Fellaini is yet to make a start for the Red Devils this season, but the latest report in Sunday Mirror claims that Manchester United have tabled a new contract for the former Everton man, after Jose Mourinho urged the club to do so.
Fellaini turns 30 in November, and the club has a policy of offering only one-year extensions to players that age. However, the report suggests that the midfielder is expecting a new long-term contract with the Red Devils.
