Everyone Is Talking About What Romelu Lukaku Did Against Everton

Sunday’s encounter against Everton was a treat for the Old Trafford faithful, as the Red Devils gave a phenomenal performance on the pitch.

However, Everton were unable to mimic their brilliance, as they let in three goals in the last seven minutes, and their game ended in a 4-0 defeat, with United triumphant owing to goals from Valencia, Mkhitaryan, Lukaku, and a penalty from Martial.

The third of these goals was slotted home by Romelu Lukaku, who was playing against his club of past seasons. Much talk had occurred prior to the meeting as to how the striker would react if he were to score against his former club. His antics post goal were tongue-in-cheek, worthy of a Red Devil.

Before scoring the goal, the 24-year-old snatched the ball for a quick free-kick, which made him the subject of several boos from the travelling Everton fans. When the subsequent free-kick missed the mark, the boos became a cheer, mocking the player.

However, when the ball rebounded back to play and was passed by Lingard onto the awaiting foot of Lukaku, who calmly buried it in the back of the net, the response swiftly halted. This was not let unnoticed by the Belgian.

Breaking mid-celebration towards the Sir Alex Ferguson stand, the striker headed to the away team’s side and cupped a hand to his ears, in mockery of the travelling side’s antics.

While many would think the reaction to be unnecessary, it has certainly earned the big man much fame amongst the United supporters, who quickly took to Twitter to voice their approval of the incident.

The ex-Toffees man is clearly a United player in and out. He has already bagged 7 goals in 7 appearances across all competitions for the English giants, and the fans will be hoping for several more goals, and plenty of such celebrations from him before the season comes to a close.
