Twitter Reacts To Serge Aurier Red Card

Tottenham’s signing of Serge Aurier from PSG in the summer window was touted as a fine piece of business from the London club, as the right-back is one of the highest rated players in the game.
Having signed for the club, he was handed his Premier League debut against West Ham on Saturday, and he certainly proved his worth, but perhaps not in the fashion he intended to.
After saving a crucial potential goal inside the box in the 16th minute, when he expertly tackled Marko Arnautovic, preventing him from burying the ball in the back of the net, Aurier set his price tag’s worth. However, this talented piece of play wasn’t going to be the big move in the match.
After being shown a yellow card in the 64th minute, the Ivory Coast international went on to carelessly lunge at Andy Carroll in the 70th minute, which the referee was quick to spot, and showed the defender a second yellow card, which subsequently got him sent off.
Twitter went into hysterics over his seventy-minute long performance. Tweets hailing the 24-year-old for his save and agility in the first half quickly turned into disbelief for the same supporters. The resultant mix of tweets was certainly entertaining.
Moreover, fans couldn’t fathom as to why the player, despite being shown yellow earlier, went into the tackle in a seemingly non-dangerous spot.

It certainly was an up and down start for Aurier, who almost didn’t make it to England, owing to an earlier criminal trial that had caused issues with his work visa. But he has clearly begun winning the hearts of the Tottenham faithful, who will be more than eager to see him again. They may have to wait until his suspension ends, though.
