REVEALED: The Number Of Games Marouane Fellaini Will Miss After Southampton Injury

Manchester United are in a spot of bother due to lack of cover in midfield, as they face a tricky test away at CSKA Moscow in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
After Paul Pogba’s hamstring injury, United have lost key asset Marouane Fellaini too, along with Michael Carrick, for their vital Group A encounter.
Jose Mourinho went on to reveal the current situation, and stated that Fellaini is lucky not to have suffered a deafening blow after a bad challenge in their 1-0 win against Southampton in the Premier League over the weekend.
Fellaini was knocked down by Shane Long, but the Belgian carried on in pain to complete the entire game. Reports stated that the player was seen limping after the match whilst on his way to the team bus, and now, that has proved to be true.
Mourinho highlighted the scenario his side faces, but has promised to field a team with quality.
“We don’t have Fellaini, we don’t have Pogba, we don’t have Carrick. So all three midfield players we lose for this match,” the Portuguese admitted.
“The solutions are not many but we try not to focus on individual battles or specific areas of the pitch. We are going to have a team with quality, with balance and to try to win the match which is our objective.”
United are left with Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera, who are set to feature in the game, and have youngster Scott Mctominay as the 3rd choice. Daley Blind and Phil Jones could also be used as cover, with the side aiming to notch up a 2nd successive victory in the tournament.
Fellaini is also set to miss Crystal Palace’s visit to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday, and the club will hope Carrick makes a return this weekend to provide an option.
