OFFICIAL: Marco Asensio Signs New Real Madrid Deal With €700m Release Clause
Real Madrid’s emerging star Marco Asensio has won the hearts of many across the world, especially the fans of his club, and the Spanish giants have now tied him down with a new contract, so as to fend off advances from top European clubs.
The 21-year-old has gone on to agree a deal with the reigning Champions League winners, which will keep him in Madrid up till 2023. Not just that, but Asensio now has a €700m release clause, as Los Blancos are determined not to let go off him for cheap in the near future.
Asensio’s contract comes after the new deals that were offered to the likes of Raphael Varane, Karim Benzema, Marcos Llorente, Isco, Dani Carvajal, and Marcelo. Real have the best team in the world right now, and manager Zinedine Zidane wants his players to remain focused by committing their futures to the club.
Asensio played a pivotal part for Real last season, and he has kept up his standards this term as well, despite a lot of competition. Asensio’s club form has also seen him get drafted into the Spanish national team, as he is considered to be one of the supremely talented youngsters in today’s game.
This is a major boost for Real, given both Barcelona and Liverpool had seen their advances for the youngster thwarted off, and it also kills any interest in the coming years with such a high valuation. The player, meanwhile, is set to appear at a press conference on Friday to highlight his extension.
