WATCH: Martial Ruins Townsend’s Career, Whose Reaction After The Humiliation Is Even Better
Saturday saw Manchester United taste victory yet again, as they thumped Crystal Palace to a sound 4-0 – a score line that is becoming more and more familiar to the supporters. Goals from Juan Mata and Romelu Lukaku, as well as a brace from Marouane Fellaini ensured the victory.
However, as has been the case in recent weeks, it was the cameo appearance of Anthony Martial that was undoubtedly impressive.
After being once more denied the starting spot by Marcus Rashford, the 21-year-old was brought on in the second half, and as expected, he went on to a flying start, breathing life into an already entertaining fixture.

His best contribution arguably came soon after he was subbed on, as the Frenchman went on to nutmeg Andros Townsend. He had been on the pitch for less than 10 seconds, and the Crystal Palace man wasn’t very happy about the move, bearing a devastating look.

The antics were very highly lauded by the fans, who took to Twitter to express their joy and pleasure regarding the move. Apart from the nutmeg, the player also went on to provide the assist to Lukaku’s goal, capitalizing on a brilliant run of play by Herrera, who was a substitute as well.
The assist was the player’s 12th since joining the Red Devils, and the Frenchman now has more to his name than any other United player since. The youngster has been repeatedly hailed as a legend in the making already.
Martial’s selection battle with Rashford is proving to be greatly beneficial for the squad, and it is sure to lead to the development for both youngsters. Plus, the entertainment value is undeniably high. The ex-Monaco man alone has been responsible for much of the club’s success in the dying moments – a revival of the Manchester United of the old days.
