Stunning Romelu Lukaku Equals Record Of Man United Legend
Manchester United continue to benefit from their summer marquee signing Romelu Lukaku, as the big Belgian continues to find the back of the net in an emphatic manner.
The no. 9 was instrumental once again for Jose Mourinho’s side, after bagging yet another goal in the Premier League, as United brushed aside Crystal Palace 4-0 at Old Trafford. The Red Devils were three goals up against bottom-placed side when Anthony Martial’s pass found a lone Lukaku in the 6-yard box, and the striker effortlessly helped the ball inside the net.
Moreover, Lukaku also went on to match a remarkable feat with this goal, after equaling former striker Andy Cole’s record for the Mancunian giants. The former Everton man has gone to score 7 goals in 7 league matches for United, just as Cole achieved under former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Englishman is considered to be a legendary figure in United’s history, and Lukaku’s promise goes on to show that he too, can follow in the direction of the former.
Lukaku has been in stellar form since his move, and has gone on to score 11 times in just 10 games across all competitions. He is the leading scorer in the Premier League this term, and his link-up play with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial has been superb.
United go into the international break with six wins and a draw out of the seven league matches, which sees them being separated by a solitary goal-difference to lie in second place. Jose has been vocal about Lukaku all season so far, after being happy with his contribution so consistently.
