Real Madrid Star Claims He Was Right To Reject Manchester United

The summer of 2014 brings back the memories of Germany’s famous World Cup campaign, by the end of which they were crowned as World Champions. However, for one German superstar, that summer was a major turning point in his club career.
The highly-rated then Bayern Munich midfielder, Toni Kroos, was at a point in his career where he had to choose between making a move to England’s top club, Manchester United, or Spanish elite, Real Madrid.
The 27-year-old eventually decided to snub the Red Devils, and completed a £20 million move to the Bernabeu. And now, while speaking to reporters, Kroos has given the verdict that his decision to move to the Spanish capital was the correct one.
The German star stated: “My change of team was correct, in fact, from my point of view there is no doubt about it. Clearly, if you go abroad to a top club, it means one more step in your development. Carlo Ancelotti wanted me in Madrid, and had bet on me.”

Kroos has already won a La Liga title and two consecutive Champions League crowns, and has developed significantly under current boss Zinedine Zidane.
Speaking about his French manager, the midfielder added: “From the beginning, he (Zidane) gave me a lot of confidence and in his two years he’s played me in almost every game, especially in the big games.

“Trust me, I will always try to give everything for the team. We have a good relationship. A friendly relationship with the coach is important for each player.”
The former Bayern star also made a point to talk about the pressure that comes with wearing the famous white jersey, by adding: “Before leaving I was seen as a good player, perhaps as a very good player, but as one of the many players that Bayern had.
“But if you play as a Real footballer you get even more attention. Maybe that part from the fans I do not like so much.”
