Real Madrid To Let Their Star Leave For £89m

Headlines will never tire of linking Manchester United with Gareth Bale, so much so that a casual reader could be forgiven for thinking that he player has become a Red Devil by now.
However, this might eventually come to reality in the summer transfer window, as indicated by an important development.
As per El Confidencial, the 28-year-old forward is ‘losing importance’ with Los Blancos, and as of such, the club has reportedly told United that they can have him for £89 million, which is slightly more than the then world record fee of £85 million Real paid to pry the player from Tottenham in 2013.
Since then, despite guiding the team to several trophies and scoring in crucial matches, the Welshman has proven to be severely injury prone, and has rarely been able to enjoy a long spell without being sidelined soon. So far this season, he has been able to manage only seven appearances, wherein he has scored 3 and bagged as many assists.
This seems to be testing the patience of manager Zinedine Zidane as well as the supporters of the La Liga giants. Even now, the winger is sidelined with a calf injury that is set to see him miss even more game time. Therefore, it is increasingly likely that other emerging names like Asensio will gain prominence over him at the Bernabeu.
However, Jose Mourinho is clearly an admirer of the Welshman, and will be more than pleased to acquire the services of the world class player, despite his injury issues. The same goes for the Old Trafford faithful, who would want nothing more than to see the wide-man wear their red jersey.
Bale himself has repeatedly mentioned that he is very happy at Madrid, but if his disastrous spell continues, the future might not be in his hands.
