Manchester United are willing to offer Anthony Martial to Barcelona for Ivan Rakitic in a swap-deal, as per surprising reports from Diario Gol.

Martial had a sensational debut campaign at Old Trafford, and has made a similarly bright start to the ongoing season, despite not being a guaranteed starter.

The 21-year-old has shared the left winger role with Marcus Rashford, but boss Jose Mourinho evidently prefers the English youngster over the French forward.

Martial has, therefore, been linked with an exit from the Theatre of Dreams. The Portuguese tactician, however, is not planning to sell the forward to just any club.

In fact, he favours engaging in a swap deal with Barcelona, so as to rope in Croatian playmaker Ivan Rakitic. Furthermore, he is convinced that the Catalans will take the bait.

The Red Devils’ boss initially had his eyes on Sergi Roberto.

However, it seems that the ex-Real Madrid boss is now interested in signing the Croatian more. Mourinho has been looking for an experienced playmaker, and therefore, he believes Rakitic would be a good addition to his squad.

Furthermore, the attacking midfielder possesses world-class dynamism and tactical awareness, and Jose intends to implement the player’s ability in United’s midfield, alongside Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are very likely to accept this offer as well, as Anthony Martial could perfectly fit into their attacking lineup alongside Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, especially during the absence of injured Frenchman Ousmane Dembele.

We don’t need that flop mourinho rackitic, can’t u see that martial is very skillful than rashford if u sell martial u will regret it sell rashford or lindegaard they are both selfish and can’t assist lukaku on goal. I salute martial the king of dribbling

Martial is a gifted player that deserve a patient heart for him in Man U. Giving him away will cost the club another huge in his ret just like Pogba.

Martial is going nowhere. It’s a deliberate strategy to put Rashford on first to run the legs off the opposition defense then send Martial on , ( a lot more direct and skillful dribbler than Rashford), to finish them off. Another Olly if he is prepared to wait his time.
