Nearly everyone is glad that the international break has finally come to a close, as league football finally returns. And surely, the most exciting fixture that is coming up in the Premier League is Manchester United’s clash against Liverpool at Anfield this Saturday.

The Red Devils head to Merseyside sitting below rivals Manchester City on goal difference, though both sides have secured the same amount of points. United are yet to taste defeat, and look prepared for their trip to the lair of the Reds.

On the other hand, Jürgen Klopp’s side has had a rather mixed campaign so far, but the Reds have gotten back on track since the return of Philippe Coutinho, and will be looking to maintain that run.

Prior to the match, Jose Mourinho was called up to a press conference, which was rather entertaining, as he gave some interesting responses.

When enquired if his side would be “adventurous” against Klopp’s side, the former Real Madrid boss cheekily replied: “I play with one defender and nine strikers, don’t worry about it. We play with one guy behind and then we go with a new system and we play with nine strikers, don’t worry about it.”

A classic Jose Mourinho reply. The United tactician surely knows how to entertain the crowd. However, the Anfield faithful will also want to be entertained, and that’s exactly what is expected to be offered. Unlike last season, the ex-Chelsea boss is confident going into this tie and expressed that during the interview as well.

“We have more points. Last season we lost a few points before we played against Liverpool, we lost points in matches that were considered easy, we lost points at home against Everton, West Ham and Southampton. Last season we didn’t win them before we played Liverpool, so we have more points than last season at this stage,” Jose added.
