The widely anticipated Premier League clash between Liverpool and Manchester United concluded with both teams failing to find the back of the net. The fixture, as expected, sent off sparks among supporters. However, the Red Devils weren’t up to the form they have portrayed until this point of the current season.

The Old Trafford giants were able to seize only 38% of the possession at Anfield, and managed only one shot on target as the match ended 0-0, frustrating both teams and their supporters.

Ensuing the goalless match, Journalist Daniel Storey posted a tweet divulging that the Mancunians, under Mourinho, have scored just one goal in their last six league games away from home against the big six.

The Portuguese boss tried to play it safe this Saturday, notwithstanding the offensive power he could’ve utilised. He had some of the best players who have notably played well this season, including Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford, and Anthony Martial, at his disposal. However, the Red Devils’ coach made a mild approach despite being a side that could’ve pressed the other team to an extent.

Despite the performances, the 54-year-old’s team put up against the Reds, and he proclaimed that he did all he could because there was no other option to influence the score. He insisted that the German had control because he kept the three strong midfield players all the time.

Meanwhile, the Reds’ boss happened to claim that he would not be able to set-up as defensively as Mourinho does, as he claimed in his post-match conference: “It was obvious that they had a more defensive approach. They looked like they would take a point.”

Regardless, the next big fixture for the Red Devils comes at the start of November, where they will square off against Chelsea, one of the big six. The game is expected to be akin to today’s fixture, as statistics shows Mourinho is enticed to park the bus in big games.
