Jose Mourinho Reveals When Zlatan Ibrahimovic Will Return

Manchester United’s season looks healthy so far, but their injury concerns appear increasingly worrying when one thinks of the fixture riddled period of late November and the entirety of December.
With the likes of Paul Pogba ruled out till well into the next year, and Marouane Fellaini expected to make a return somewhere around December, they are still pretty taut in players to choose from.
However, last season too, they were very impressive up front, and it was due to the efforts of one man in particular – a player that Jose Mourinho feels will return before the curtain falls on 2017. Zlatan Ibrahimović was instrumental in the Red Devils’ attack since his signing, and his 28 goals until he was ruled out by injury was a sight to relish.
Now, during the pre-match conference in the build-up to his side’s Premier League clash against Huddersfield, Jose Mourinho openly stated: “Zlatan is here. He’s working here (the AON Training Complex) and under our control.”
The United boss continued: “He’s working as you would expect – so, so, so hard. But he’s not going to be back in the next week or the next couple of weeks. Let him take his time and be back when everybody feels is the right moment. Do I believe he’ll be back in 2017? Yes, I do. But it’s just a feeling.”
Further, similar thoughts were shared by former United striker Andy Cole to MUTV, where he said: “I had a chat with Zlatan when he was in the gym the other day. I think he is looking forward to coming back, most probably in December or January time.”
The return of the illustrious Swede, who will wear the club’s No. 10 Jersey, will be a welcome relief to Romelu Lukaku, who might otherwise find himself under pressure owing to the sheer number of competitions the Mancunian side will have to battle in during the festive period.
