Paul Pogba is reportedly aiming to get back into action for the Red Devils by early December.

Pogba has been sidelined since he was forced off the pitch due to a hamstring injury in United’s opening Champions League clash against Swiss giants Basel on September 12.

The star flew to the United States for treatment, and was expected to remain off the pitch until next year, after Jose Mourinho described the Frenchman’s injury as ‘long-term’.

When the Special One was asked about a potential return date for Pogba following the Red Devils’ win against Benfica in the Champions League, the Portuguese tactician gave a very uncertain answer, by simply stating: “I don’t know when he plays again.”

However, as per an exclusive report from Daily Star, sources close to the Portuguese tactician have revealed that the gaffer is ‘optimistic that Pogba could be back in action inside eight weeks’.

The ace midfielder had also posted a series of him undergoing multiple training routines earlier, which ignited rumours of an early return. And with the latest reports, United could potentially be with their £89 million-rated star midfielder as early as December.

It was reported that the 24-year-old may return to full training next month, and even be in first-team contention during the Red Devils’ hectic festive schedule. The Old Trafford club is scheduled to play 4 massive games in 11 days before Christmas, including a potentially title deciding Manchester derby at Old Trafford on December 10.

Pogba’s return could prove vital for Mourinho, especially with his side struggling to cope up with significant absentees, a proof of which came in yesterday’s 2-1 home defeat to newly promoted Huddersfield Town.
