High-Profile Midfielder ‘In Contact With Mourinho’ And Is Willing To Leave Arsenal
Mesut Ozil’s contract with current team Arsenal expires at the end of this season and a transfer is in prospect, as the German playmaker is not willing to sign a new contract with the Gunners unless there is a hike of 30 per cent in his wage, and he is handed the no. 10 shirt.
According to M.E.N Sports, the 29-year-old is willing to leave only for Manchester United, Real Madrid or Barcelona, but the Gunners are still trying their best to tie him up with the team with a new deal, by negotiating the conditions put in by the 2014 World Cup winner.
The attacking midfielder has featured just seven times so far this season, with injuries troubling him since the start of the season. He made his comeback to the starting XI in Arsenal’s 5-2 win over Everton in the Premier League, wherein he scored a goal and provided a sublime assist.

Ozil seems to be aware that his time at the Emirates Stadium is nearing an end, and he had told teammates that he is likely to join the Red Devils. This remains untrue at present, however, as United are yet to make a concrete move for the star midfielder.
A source did admit that Ozil remains close to his former Real boss Jose Mourinho, though, by stating: “I know he is always in contact with Mourinho because he likes him. He thinks he is the best coach he ever played for. He has a special relationship with him.”
Ozil has also been linked with a move to the two La Liga powerhouses, despite the player having previously represented Los Blancos for three years between 2010 and 2013.
