VIDEO: This Jesse Lingard Interview Is Painful To Watch
Jesse Lingard was instrumental in Manchester United’s 2-0 win against Swansea City in the Carabao Cup. The 24-year-old netted both the goals for the Red Devils, and was in an all-around splendid form throughout the match.
The first goal was assisted by Marcus Rashford, and Lingard was able to nicely capitalize with a well-timed run and perfectly placed shot. As for the second one, an impressive header was utilized by the Englishman, translating Matteo Darmian’s cross into the back of the net.
Further, the win sent Manchester United through to the quarterfinals of the competition, and they certainly appear favorites to secure their title yet again, just like last season.
However, if you had missed the match and solely watched Lingard’s post-match interview, you would have been forgiven for thinking that the Red Devils had been kicked out of the competition. The charisma that the youth academy product is renowned for on the pitch was seen nowhere during the short encounter.

Congrats to Jesse Lingard for just giving the worst and least enthusiastic post-match interview of all time. Does he know United won? #MUFC

Fucking hell…. listening to Lingard mumble his way through that interview is almost as frustrating as watching him play 🙈

The mumbling of words in reply to the questions was unenthusiastic and left supporters cringed out. They were swift to voice out their disapproval, storming to Twitter to poke fun at the forward.
While his goal scoring skills are undoubted, particularly in finals at Wembley, his interviewing abilities need great working. Even his acceptance of the Man of the Match award was dismal. It was as if he was given a burden of sorts.
Being hailed as one of the game’s few youngsters to actually have a wonderful personality, Lingard will hope to not have a repeat of the same in the future.
