FIFA Clear Juventus For Paul Pogba Transfer
FIFA have officially cleared Juventus from taking part in any malpractice in Paul Pogba’s then world-record move back to Manchester United last year.
A number of reports had revealed that Mino Raiola, Pogba’s agent, had earned a staggering £41 million from the then-world-record deal, and this led FIFA to launch an investigation into the matter.
However, after a thorough investigation, they have come up with no evidence to suggest any sort of malpractice from the Bianconeri in relation to the mega-bucks deal. Manchester United were also under investigation for a while, but were cleared earlier in the summer.
In a meeting with Juventus’s shareholders, Andrea Agnelli delivered the positive new, by stating (via Mediaset): “FIFA’s investigation into Pogba has concluded without any implication for Juventus, who have been completely acquitted.”
Agnelli, who is the president of the club, also announced that the club had earned a profit in terms of revenue last season, having secured their sixth Serie A title in a row.
He added: “We’ve recorded a record profit of €42.6m. The focus for Juventus has always been on our football, but to develop the sporting side, what happens off the field is equally important. We’re extremely proud of what the club have done — never in history have a side won six Scudettos in a row — and now we are looking for something beyond legendary.”
