This Is What Mesut Ozil Has To Do To Secure A Move To Manchester United

Arsenal ace playmaker Mesut Ozil has been told to complete his contract period at the Emirates if he wishes to make a switch to Manchester United, according to reports.
Ozil has been heavily linked to make a move to Old Trafford in the recent weeks, in spite of any concrete interest from the Red Devils.
And as per Manchester Evening News, the Gunners have advised the German superstar to ‘run down his Arsenal contract’ if he wishes to complete a transfer to their rivals, which means that a switch in the winter transfer window is ‘unlikely’ to happen.

The 29-year-old reportedly wants an increased salary, and Arsenal have made it quite clear that ‘he would have to move on a free transfer to secure a wage hike’. Ozil is aiming at an increased package of around £202,000-a-week, which is a 30 percent increase on his currently wage of £154,000-a-week.
It was also claimed that when Ozil completed his £42.4m transfer to the Gunners, he wanted the No.10 shirt, which was assigned just a year before to Jack Wilshere. If a move to Old Trafford were to materialize next summer, the German could possibly be assigned the Red Devils’ No. 10 shirt, unless current owner of the jersey, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, stays for another year.
The Red Devils came close to signing the German in 2013 under David Moyes, and prior to that, in 2010 under Sir Alex Ferguson, when Wayne Rooney had pushed for the 29-year-old’s move to Old Trafford.
Fergie mentioned the very instance in his 2013 autobiography, as he wrote: “He was part of the great Under-21 team that then went to South Africa and played very well, but had not been on our radar to have that type of player, a No.10 off the front. I explained to Wayne to leave the signing of the players to me.”
However, the 2010 World Cup winner with Germany is now ‘keen on reuniting with Jose Mourinho’. The former Real Madrid star is said to believe that United boss Jose Mourinho is the only man who can revamp his career now. The playmaker has ruled out moves to Italy or Turkey, but has considered returning to Madrid or switching to Barcelona a viable options.
