N’Golo Kante Gives Update On His Injury Ahead Of Big Sunday Clash

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante looks set to miss out on an in-form United’s visit to the Stamford Bridge this Sunday.

Antonio Conte would have desperately wanted his squad at full strength during their clash against rivals United, so as to send Jose Mourinho’s side home empty-handed.

However, N’Golo Kante himself, has admitted that it will be tough for him to recover in time for the high-voltage clash.

The 26-year-old has been sidelined since the 1-0 home defeat to City in September due to a troublesome hamstring injury. Conte has since managed the former Leicester City player carefully, and consulted him before excluding him from the matchday squad during their defeat against Roma at the Stadio Olympico.

Speaking about the midfielder, the Chelsea boss stated: “Kante, obviously is the type of player who is very difficult to leave out. After an important muscular problem, it would be stupid to risk it, so when Kante feels at 100 per cent, he will return to playing.”

The Italian has come under scrutiny due to Chelsea’s unsatisfactory performances in the Premier League as well as the Champions League so far this season. They currently sit fourth in the league table, 9 points behind leaders Man City. The Blues have desperately missed Kante, as they have managed to keep just a single clean sheet since his injury.
