United To Sanction David De Gea’s Move To Madrid If This Happens

Man United star David de Gea keeps finding his name amongst the transfer speculations, linked especially with a move to Real Madrid.
De Gea has been outstanding for the Old Trafford unit since his move from Atletico Madrid back in 2011, having made 285 appearances for the English club in total. The Real Madrid saga surrounding De Gea is not a new tale, and now, reports suggest that Jose Mourinho could allow him to finally move to Real, but on one condition.
According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, the Portuguese could let his No. 1 keeper leave, but if only Real agree to send French defender Raphael Varane the other way. Mourinho is said to be an admirer of Varane, and managed him during his days at the helm of Santiago Bernabeu.
Since coming to the international scenario under Jose at Real, Varane has established his name as one of the best defenders in Europe. He is currently a regular under current Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, and is expected to feature prominently for France in next year’s FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Furthermore, Varane is also expected to be a very important player for Los Blancos for many more years to come, and therefore, it could be a sticky situation for the Madrid-based outfit if they are asked to choose between him and David De Gea.
Real are still said to be interested in the Spanish international, despite failing to land him in 2015, when almost everything was in their grasp. The 26-year-old will not come cheap for the European champions, and they would be expected to dish out mega bucks besides doing away with their trusted defender.
Elsewhere, reports also state that United are keen to offer a new contract to their prized asset, as the Spaniard’s current contract lasts until 2019. The highly-rated shot-stopper has been instrumental for the Premier League outfit this term too, and has already kept 11 clean sheets across all competitions.
