As maintained by a few French reports, Manchester United are in pursuit of former Chelsea attacker Bertrand Traore.

Jose Mourinho has been desperately craving for a player who can operate in the wide areas. Accordingly, the Portuguese is attracted by Lyon’s prized starlet, as per a French football magazine Onze Mondial (via TeamTalk).

Mourinho was the one who provided the forward with his Chelsea debut. However, having failed to impress the coach, he slipped down the pecking order alike most Chelsea youngsters, and eventually left due to the limited game time he received.

Natheless, the 22-year-old grabbed attention of several clubs amidst a year on loan with Ajax, which resulted in a permanent transfer to Lyon over the summer in a deal worth €10 million.

He has been in fine form for his new team, and has already netted 6 goals in 16 appearances for the French side this season.

With regard to the rumoured interest portrayed by the Red Devils in his services, Traore said: “Manchester United? Why not? I will work hard and if opportunities open, why not?”

He also expressed his thoughts on Chelsea’s youth setup, by further adding: “I fought, I reached the first team. But, in Chelsea, for a player from the training centre, it’s almost impossible to impose yourself as a starter. And I wanted to be a starter… I’m proud of what I did there before I left.”

The Burkina Faso international is said to be rated in the £30 million bracket.
