Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on highly rated Argentine youngster Enzo Diaz.

Diaz, who primarily operates as a left-back, has caught the attention of the scouts at Old Trafford with his performances for club Agropecuario.

Since his emergence, the club has reached the Argentinian second division for the first time in its history, and now, the team stands atop the competition by two points.

According to The Sun, two Manchester United scouts were present during Agropecuario’s 2-0 win over Aldosivi last Saturday, and Diaz even conversed with the Red Devils’ officials.

The youngster later spoke about the conversation in an interview with the Argentine radio, wherein he revealed: “Two representatives from Manchester United came to watch me. I’ve not yet heard back from them.

“But it is any footballer’s dream to play for United.  I spoke with their representatives, and the truth is they were delighted with me. They said they would come to watch me in a couple more games.”

United’s interest in a 20-year-old left-back comes as no surprise considering their recent struggles in the position. Apart from Luke Shaw, who himself hasn’t proved to be a reliable option yet, the club does not have a specialist in that particular defensive position.
Diaz would also join a host of Argentine stars to have graced the Old Trafford pitch if he makes the switch, with the likes of Carlos Tevez, Angel Di Maria, Juan Sebastian Veron and Gabriel Heinze all having pulled on the red shirt at some point in their careers, and Sergio Romero and Marcos Rojo being the current representatives of the South American nation.
