Ryan Giggs Has Found A New Job And It’s Very Surprising
Ryan Giggs saw footballing greatness during his memorable and career-long stint with Manchester United. In fact, many thought him to be the ideal replacement for Louis Van Gaal, before the managerial job was eventually handed over to Jose Mourinho.
The Welshman’s interim stint at the managerial helm at Old Trafford has brought forth his interest in the post at several other clubs, the biggest being the likes of Everton and Leicester City recently.
But now, in a surprising move, the legendary winger has signed a deal with a Vietnamese academy that will see him in a position of consultancy. His new role at the Promotion Fund of Vietnamese Football Talents FC will commence from November 20, and will see Giggs visit the academy for few days every year.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the ex-Red Devil revealed: “They’ve just built a brand new academy so I’m going out with Scholesy for three days of consultancy, with the potential for to link up with Salford in the future. We’re building our academy and university so these links across the world will help. It is supposed to be an amazing facility.”
As mentioned, his fellow United teammate Paul Scholes is also thought to be involved in a senior position at the academy, and the duo will be present at the opening of PVF’s new training center later this month.
A club statement revealed the role to be one of “coaching players, training coaches and participating in building and developing PVF to become the leading youth football training center in Vietnam, in line with the famous football academies across the world.”
It will be interesting to see whether or not this will lead him to land a full-time gig with one of the Premier League clubs. Potentially, with the DNA of a Manchester United great present strongly in him, the Theatre of Dreams is quite likely to see the beloved winger yet again.
