According to ESPN FC, the former Athletic Bilbao player is determined to stay in England despite interest from La Liga duo Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.

The midfielder is yet to sign a new long-term deal with the Mancunian club, with reports in Spain suggesting that this has alerted the two La Liga clubs, who are now monitoring the midfielder’s situation.
Herrera was named United’s Player of the Year last season, as he helped the club win three trophies, and he has continued his fine form in the recent set of games this term. It is believed that the player will sign an extension beyond 2019, and stay at the club for a long time.
The hard-working Spaniard has been pivotal in the Red Devils’ recent games in the absence of Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick, and Paul Pogba, and he will hope to continue to chip in at vital moments whenever the club needs him.
Besides Herrera, United are also planning to activate the one-year clauses in the contracts of Juan Mata, Daley Blind, Ashley Young, and Luke Shaw.
