Disregarding most speculation concerning Manchester United’s pursuit of Antoine Griezmann, French outlet Le10 Sport have announced that Barcelona have virtually completed the astounding transfer.

The versatile left-footed forward, with an eye for goal, has often been described as a team player, and is capable of occupying several offensive positions in or behind the main attacking line, due to his technical skills, ability to drop deep, and link-up play between the forwards and midfielders, or score many goals. Accordingly, the France international has often been deployed as a main striker, or as a winger on either flank.

On grounds of his talents, Jose Mourinho has been admiring him for quite a long time. The decorated forward even nearly signed for the Red Devils last summer, prior to the transfer embargo placed on Atletico Madrid, which saw him receive a fresh deal for extending his contract with El Atleti.

However, according to Le10 Sport, Atletico have reached an agreement to let the 26-year-old leave the Wanda Metropolitano. The deal to take him to Barcelona is expected to be announced shortly. The French outlet maintains that the Catalans are set to sign the star in a deal worth €20m (£17.8m) a year, on a five-year contract.

Nevertheless, there still remains uncertainty concerning the transfer fee, but with the Frenchman’s release clause dropping from €200m (£178.9m) to €100m (£89.45m) on January 1, a deal close to the lower figure is much anticipated.

The Atletico fan-favorite’s current contract fastens him to Wanda till 2022. Regardless, a move to the Catalan giants soon is massively awaited owing to the transfer news professed by the French outlet.

The instrumental forward could blend into the attacking line of Los Cules, which at the moment, consists of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele. He could prove to be a deadly collaboration with the world-class forwards at Nou Camp, consequently rising even higher on their pecking order.
