VIDEO: Mourinho Should Watch Martial’s Phenomenal Individual Highlights vs Germany
Anthony Martial. The unsmiling young lad whose price tag coming from Monaco seemed too high in a Manchester United jersey. In seasons since, the forward has dazzled his way into a brilliant path riddled with goals, dribbles, and trophies.
His genius was on a show yet again when France faced off against Germany, and the 21-year-old sent a clear message to Jose Mourinho, questioning why a majority of his contributions come from off the bench.
The highlight reel showcased the many talents of the Frenchman, from his quick feet and his defender-confounding runs into the box, to the sheer creativity with which he complimented his teammates.
In fact, the manner in which he provided an assist within the box to Lacazette was nothing shy of magical.

This is keeping in mind that the Germans didn’t exactly deploy amateur defenders, and yet even the reigning World Cup winners found it a testing task to stop the youngster.

Further, this does bring into question why a 90-minute start is rendered relatively unimpressive by him in the Premier League. Another statistic that stands out is that Martial has now been involved in a goal every 58 minutes for both club and country.
Going into the World Cup in Russia next year, France, with its arsenal of vicious attackers, certainly are one of the favorites to go all way and secure the victory.
The kind of display that Martial put on was certainly more proof of that. This is further daunting when one is reminded that he is not even the nation’s first option, with the likes of Mbappe, Lacazette, and Dembele, amongst others, also ahead in choice.
But after this outing, Mourinho must seriously consider whether or not Rashford will yet again be given the start ahead of Martial when Old Trafford welcomes the Red Devils back on November 18 against Newcastle.
