Real Madrid Superstar Nears Exit Amid Interest From European Powerhouses
Real Madrid fan-favourite Luka Modric could be on his way out of the Santiago Bernabeu outfit.
That’s according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon, who reported that the midfielder could be the first in line to be dropped from the first-team after the return of Gareth Bale.
The choice looks understandable, following the consistently average performances from the talented playmaker. Modric has completely failed to replicate his form from previous seasons, and is yet to register a goal or an assist in La Liga.

Moreover, with the introduction of young talents like Marco Asensio, the Croatian international’s position in Los Blancos’ appears to be the weakest it has ever been.
Further, it was also reported that boss Zinedine Zidane still believes in the efficiency of his ‘BBC’ trio, and wants to reignite his side’s usual attacking prowess with the reintroduction of Bale.
On the other hand, Modric has no shortage of suitors, as European giants like Man United, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus are reportedly keen on securing his services in the scenario of his departure.
All three clubs are well established financially, so one of them signing Modric would hardly come across as surprising, especially when “all three would be willing to bathe him in gold,” as per Don Balon.
The 32-year-old is certainly talented beyond usual levels, but it seems as if age has finally started to take a toll on him. In the period of many young prospects surfacing across all of Europe, older players are starting to look like they are losing their footing.
