Sunday will host one of the biggest games of the season, as Manchester United take on Manchester City in what is the tensest derby so far this season owing to their respective positions in the Premier League.

First-placed City are yet to taste defeat, and a win will ensure that Pep Guardiola’s men will extend their reigning points to a thumping eleven, which at this stage might even prove to be decisive.

If the Red Devils manage to silence their noisy neighbors, then a great hope will be salvaged, as Mourinho’s side will take their impeccable record of consecutive home victories ahead to potentially forty.

In that regard, United might be handed an enormous boost owing to the potential injury of one Citizen.

Speaking in the press conference ahead of their final group stage game in the Champions League, Pep Guardiola revealed: “David Silva has a little problem – I don’t know whether he will recover for Sunday. He felt uncomfortable after his goal [against West Ham]. He felt something. Hopefully, he can play on Sunday.”

The goal in question was a phenomenal one as it gifted City with a late victory – a feat that they have been notorious for in recent games, keeping their lead firm.

Silva is undoubtedly a crucial cog in the side’s success, and his potential absence on Sunday could spell doom for the Citizens, as Mourinho will be ruthless in taking advantage of all possible chances at victory.

Having already missed out on Stones through injury, Guardiola will be hoping that Silva is able to come through and function against their rivals.

Also, all of it could be mind games being played on part of the Spanish tactician, as several other key players were rested prior to the pointless Champions League clash as well. At least that is what supporters of the Sky Blues will be hoping.
