Astonishing the supporters, Cristiano Ronaldo has been deemed the genuine reason why Paul Pogba joined Manchester United rather than Real Madrid.

This week, the France international told podcast Beyond the Pitch: “To be honest, Real Madrid came to me and I was thinking to go there, and I was thinking to go to Manchester United too.

“But I always felt it in my heart. My heart told me to come back here [Manchester]. I don’t know why, I didn’t know what was going to happen. But I did it, and I don’t regret. I never regret my choice.”
However, his French teammate Raphael Varane has stunningly unveiled the authentic basis for the former Juventus midfielder’s judgment. And according to Spanish outlet Don Balon, it has something to do with the Real superstar Ronaldo.
In view of the fact that he prefers to be the only true superstar in the team, the Portuguese talisman had allegedly stopped President Florentino Perez from hauling the celebrated midfielder over to the Bernabeu.
Furthermore, Don Balon states that Varane has proposed to those close to him that Ronaldo is reluctant to permit anyone to take the spotlight away from him at Santiago Bernabeu.
In spite of the fact that the French playmaker, being a midfielder, doesn’t threaten the five-time Ballon d’Or laureate in terms of their positions, it seems the Real fan-favourite foolishly wouldn’t have been too happy operating alongside the United academy graduate.
