Player Ratings: Manchester United 1-0 Bournemouth
Manchester United bounced back from the derby defeat to beat Bournemouth 1-0 at Old Trafford and maintain their 2nd position in the Premier League table.
Following the result, Jose Mourinho’s side are still 11 points adrift Manchester City, who notched up a 15th straight victory to stay atop. Romelu Lukaku scored the only goal for the Mancunian club, as they hung on to another clean sheet.

David de Gea: 8
The Spaniard made six saves to mark his authority once again. A clean sheet will give him a lot of confidence, especially after the derby defeat.
Antonio Valencia: 6
The Ecuadorian had a decent game and made some good runs in search of creation, which wasn’t up to the mark. Defensively, he had a decent show.
Chris Smalling: 6
He has been playing match after match for the club, and despite the fatigue, he looked sharp and put in a commendable show.
Phil Jones: 8
The English international put in a solid show at the back since his return from injury, and his interceptions and tackles were brilliant.
Luke Shaw: 8
His first start in the Premier League was a notable one. His positioning was noteworthy, and his runs forward were laudable.
Scott McTominay: 8
The youngster made the most of his chances and was a dictating figure in midfield. His interpretation and passes were spot on.

Nemanja Matic: 5
The Serbian’s positioning at times was brilliant, as he looked like strong and sturdy. Some misplaced passes and a handball marked some nervy moments too.
Juan Mata: 7
He enjoyed himself on the pitch, and his cut inwards led him to feed Romelu Lukaku for the solitary United goal.
Jesse Lingard: 6
Not the best of performance, but he showed industry and the zeal to give it all.
Anthony Martial: 5
Did not have the best of games. Should have buried the clear chance he received in front of goal, but he missed it.
Romelu Lukaku: 7
He looked much better after the dismal show against City. Scored a good goal from Mata’s cross and gave everything upfront.

Ander Herrera: 6
Replaced Lingard and did a decent job for his side after coming on, and made a notable challenge.
Marcus Rashford: 6
Had a close shave against the post. Otherwise could not get the better of Bournemouth players.
Ashley Young: 4
Appeared as a late substitute. Had very little to show.
