Cristiano Ronaldo Slammed For These Two Moments In El Classico
Cristiano Ronaldo’s awards so far this year would undoubtedly render him as the best player in the world.
However, his performance in El Clasico proved to be far from it, and if anything, a few of his moments made it difficult to believe that the Ballon d’Or was in fact awarded to him over Lionel Messi.
One of these arrived in the 10th minute of the match, where the Portuguese superstar was provided the perfect opportunity to give his side the much-needed lead, but what he did instead has left Twitter rolling with spite.

By missing the shot, it certainly appeared that Ronaldo allowed himself to be nutmegged, a sight that one certainly doesn’t get to see every day. Further, the more sober repercussion of the act was that Madrid lost a valuable opportunity at taking the lead.
The later moments of the match, wherein the 10-man home team struggled heavily against Barcelona, who went on to claim the three points with a solid 3-0 win, makes the miss one to smack in the head.
Twitter was equal measures critical and ridiculous about the miss, but what happened later on brought in many more negative replies, particularly from Real Madrid supporters themselves.
In the 20th minute of the match, Ronaldo was yet again in a vital spot. But this time, instead of being one to finish, his placement ensured that he could pass the ball decisively to a number of his teammates who could have gotten the lead.
Instead, he decided to have a go at it for himself, only to be blocked by Barca’s defense. Another chance wasted, and Los Blancos didn’t receive much more for the course of the remaining minutes.
As of such, the Portuguese hero was branded as outright greedy and selfish by his own supporters.
In the past, he at least had the performance to reply with to such criticism, but after Saturday night, one does wonder as to what is happening to the man who is still hailed by many as the very definition of perfection in football.
