Manchester United bestowed relief to supporters as they celebrated their triumph over Everton.

The 2-0 victory saw Romelu Lukaku sidelined, as he did not travel with the squad owing to a concussion he suffered during his side’s weekend clash with the Saints.

However, in the striker’s absence, Anthony Martial shone brilliantly, scoring the opener for the Old Trafford outfit. The Frenchman’s classy performance was widely noted, and the supporters were full of praise, conspicuous from the reactions on Twitter.

Peculiarly, in view of the fact that Martial performed much better against the Toffees than Lukaku has been lately, the Red Devils’ supporters took to social media to brand the Belgian striker ‘useless’.

Jose Mourinho decided to play the 22-year-old down the middle, which came off as a perfect decision, as the talented forward was at his best and played his part beautifully well.

Latching onto a sweet assist from Paul Pogba, the ex-Monaco man scored his side’s first goal in the 57th minute. He then came off when the clock hit 77, receiving a standing ovation from the United supporters.

The fans, craving for more of the Frenchman’s impressive displays, even asserted that Lukaku must be sold, owing to the fact that the Belgium international’s performance isn’t bringing the Red giants any glory.
