Arsenal Complete First January Signing
Arsenal have marked their first signing of 2018, as they announce the completion of a move for a Greek starlet.
Konstantinos Mavropanos has arrived at the Emirates from PAS Giannina for £2.2million, after having made 16 league appearances for the Superleague Greece club.
The centre-back has been showcasing impressive performances at his previous club, which formed the sound basis for Wenger’s interest in the talented player.
The 20-year-old is apparently regarded in his homeland as one of the best potential talents, after he marked his existence and excited the supporters with a breakthrough campaign for regional side PAS.
Konstantinos made his senior debut against Agrotikos Asteras in the Greek Cup back in November 2016, staying on the field for the entirety of 90 minutes and aiding his side to seize a clean sheet.
Arsenal report that he meets the physical demands of the Premier League in view of the fact that the talented figure is recognized for his aerial abilities and ball-winning capability.
However, according to Islington Gazette, Arsene conceded the defender would be loaned out straight away following Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Wednesday. The gaffer had proclaimed that the youngster wasn’t ready to play yet.
And as a matter of fact, the starlet is reportedly one of the players who was spotted by the Gunners’ new scouting team, led by Sven Mislintat.
Additionally, the length of the centre-back’s contract is not yet announced. Regardless, the club has wished well for the Greek’s future in their initial statement.
