With a move for Alexis Sanchez believed to be in its final stages of completion, United will, at last, have a winter signing.

However, the highly rated Arsenal playmaker might not be the only player to join the ranks of Old Trafford.

Much before this week’s surprise speculation that Sanchez was a target for Jose Mourinho, the English giants had another winger on their radar.

PSG’s Lucas Moura had allegedly agreed to terms with the club, and a transfer fee was supposedly being negotiated by the two clubs. However, a recent revelation by the Brazilian could signal the second signing for United.

Moura has made up his mind to not continue any longer at PSG. The decision comes after this season’s playing time was dreadfully cut short following the summer arrivals of Neymar and Mbappe. As a result, the 25-year-old has set his eyes elsewhere.

“I do not think I’m going to stay,” he told Brazilian television. “Unfortunately, it’s the end for me in Paris. I like the English championship. The English league is the most hotly contested in the world, it’s going to depend. I’m going to sit down with my family and see what God has decided for me.”

This will be a massive boost for Mourinho and company. If United are able to land both Lucas and Sanchez, a lot of possibilities open up.

Most important amongst those would be the fact that the Chilean wouldn’t have to be burdened with flank duty, and could be deployed as a striker. This would allow Lucas to replace Martial and Rashford as a natural winger and solve much of Mourinho’s woes.

But till both targets have put on the Red jersey, supporters will be at some unease. Positive news could arrive in a short while.
