United secured a 1-0 away win against Burnley on Saturday, with the game’s sole hurrah coming through Anthony Martial’s 54th-minute goal. However, what struck out more than the actual ball that hit the framework before bouncing into the goal, was the build-up.

Romelu Lukaku is not an ideal creator of chances, with clinical finishing being his area of expertise. Such is his ineptness at the former that critics have been vocal about him being overrated as a result.

But the assist he provided for Martial’s decisive winner is one that ought to shut those experts up.

Taking possession of the ball from the halfway line itself, the Belgian was swift in his approach to run it down the field, allowing Martial to get into an apt spot.

Having kept the ball for a decent bit, Lukaku then whipped it in nicely for the Frenchman to capitalize on, and his finish was the rare moment of glimmer in a match where the Red Devils were average.

Fans were delighted to see this contribution from their summer signing, and stormed to Twitter to make their approval known.
