BREAKING: Mesut Ozil Agrees Record Deal, Contract Signed
Deadline day seems to be getting better and better for the Arsenal supporters, as reports of Mesut Özil extending his stay at the Emirates have flooded in right after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s official announcement as a Gunner.
The Gooners have never usually been excited for January windows, as the London outfit hardly seems to do any significant business at this point of the year.
However, the German international may have gifted his fans the best transfer window since his deadline day move to North London almost 4 years ago.
Nevertheless, according to BBC’s David Ornstein, who is as accurate as it can get in terms of Arsenal news, Özil has penned a stunning £350,000-per-week deal this morning after a week long negotiation.
EXCLUSIVE: Mesut Ozil signs a new three-and-a-half year contract to remain at Arsenal until summer 2021. Becomes highest-paid player in club history on around £350k per week before tax. The 29-year-old is as good as a brand new signing for Arsene Wenger’s side, and could be on his way to earn a legendary status among the club supporters.
